Playing Fractazmic Trap (2-4 Players)

The easiest game to play with Fractazmic cards is Fractazmic Trap.  This game can be played with 2 to 4 players.

Object of the Game

The object of Fractazmic trap is to gather as many hands as possible before the first player runs out of cards. Hands are captured by either (1) playing a card that brings the sum of all cards thrown to 1 or (2) forcing the next player to throw a card that brings the sum to greater than 1 IN A GIVEN SUIT. If any of these events occur – the player captures the round and is the first to start the next round.

Game Play

One player first shuffles the cards and then deals 7 cards to each player . Play goes in a clockwise manner with the player to the dealers left starting.

The first player discards one card from their hand face up – this is the start of a round. The next player must discard a card of the same suit to the round, face up – so that both cards discarded are showing face up.

Play continues with the next player also discarding a card of the same suit.

If a player does not have a card of the suit of the round – they must pull a card from the remainder of the deck. They contine to draw cards until they get a card of the current suit.  If that card is in the suit of the round, they must discard the card to the discard pile face up so that all cards still show.

If a player has a card in their hand in the same suit as the round, they must discard it.

If a player discards a card to bring the total of the round to 1 – that player captures the round and gets to start the next round.

If the next player discards a card that brings the total of the round to greater than 1, the previous player wins the round and gets to start the next round.

Play continues until the first player discards all their cards. The first player to run out of cards, wins that round regardless of the total of cards played with a sum of 1. To be the winner they take the highest TOTAL of captured sums by any player and ADD their sums played to it. If they have the highest number of sums played - then they get double the number of sums played for the round.

All players count the number of sums they played - they get that many points, cards are reshuffled, dealt and players can play again with a new hand. Groups can keep track of the score of hands by keeping a running total of the score.
